Credit Cards Club

May 9, 2008 no comments

Credit cards. Icky little things, that I really truly hate. But whatever, can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em. In some ways you need them, in some ways they are evil. But when you need them, which one is right? I’ve known people who’ve gotten royally screwed by some cards, and people who have had nothing but good experiences with others. I suppose the best thing to do would be to see what other people say about cards, and try and find the best one for you. CreditCardsClub.com can help aide you in your decision, from info on all sorts of cards separated into categories, to credit cards rating. Get something in the mail about a card, or hear about it from someone else? It’s easy enough to go to their site and read all about the card you’re interested in.

Nude protests are my favorite kind

May 8, 2008 one comment

A soldier posed nude in playgirl, and calls it a political protest. Like many things, I believe nude protests are the best kind. It always gets people’s attention. From Raw Story.

Zamudio posed for Playgirl wearing nothing but an American flag draped over his shoulders. “I want to change the meaning of what the American flag is to the people,” he explains. According to ABC, Zamudio “says he also got naked to show his disgust for the Patriot Act, which he says strips away Americans’ freedoms.”

However, another veteran interviewed by ABC found the photos an insult to the military. “It’s a dishonor to everybody else in the service,” Craig Northacker told ABC.

Stripping in Playgirl because the Patriot Act strips freedoms! Brilliant, says I!

Triscents Home Makeover semifinals

no comments

A while ago I posted about this lovely contest put on by Renuzit Triscents in which they are giving away a twenty thousand dollar home makeover to the winner of a vote. Users will vote for their favourite submission, and the winner will get the money for the makeover!

Personally, I’d have to say I enjoyed number seven quite a bit. I’ll admit, I haven’t finished watching all of them - yet. But so far, I like theirs quite a bit. They got the whole family involved. From the Mother to the littlest daughter. And they managed to make a nice little video telling their story, and showing how the product can help transform their house. Beautiful house on the outside (really, watch the video. I love their house’s exterior so very much) and, with the help of TriScents, beautiful-er on the inside. (beautiful-er is a lovely made up hyphenated word!)

Anyhoos - I’m going to keep checkin’ out the finalists, and after I view ‘em all I’ll vote for my favorite. And so can you! Simply visit the semi-finalist gallery, then create an account (you can sign up for information on triscents as well as offers there, too) and then once you’ve viewed the submissions, you too can vote.

Don’t take my mind on a trip

no comments

I love that song so very much! I hope Boy George sings it on his tour. And hopefully someone will record it for me, as unless he adds a date a bit closer, I won’t be able to see him. So sad! Closer than Colorado, Georgie! But I am totally glad he’s coming over for a tour - it brings up hopes that there will be more dates at a later time. I’d love an Omaha or Lincoln, Des Moines or Kansas City date. I’d totally travel, even if I had to rob a bank. I’d rob a bank now, if I was a loser, just to head off to England for Nag Nag Nag’s last night, and George’s revival of the twin. God I hope someone records it, I’ll be dying to see the Twin back!

Wimbledon

May 7, 2008 no comments

Wimbledon is coming up, hoorah! Tennis, being one of the only sports I can stand, is a lovely sport. It’s easy, and it’s fun, and anyone can do it. All inclusive fun, how lovely, says I. Anyhoo, I’m not big on Tennis really, when Passions was on NBC there were far too many interrupted days, lol. And me being shallow, that kind of annoyed me. But whatever, I still like tennis enough to actually know a bit about the sport, and like playing it. A racket - a ball - an easy, fun sport to play. (I’ll admit though, I am a total whore for another racket sport - badminton.)

That being said, I’d LOVE to go to Wimbledon. So many people! A sport I like well enough! It’d be lovely to go to to the tournament at All England Lawn Tennis Club. The fact that I sort of like the sport isn’t even my biggest reason why I’d go to Wimbledon. The biggest is that it’s in London! London, I say! I’d totally have a lovely time in London. Hit up Wimbledon, and all the fun it brings, and then see the wonderful London. So please, someone rich, buy me Wimbledon tennis tickets? I’d be forever in your debt, and I’d totally love it, and you.

Watch me as I shout in glee! Ready? Okay! Hoorah! Hooray!

Florence has a fabric store - and it’s not a pathetic cheapo lame place! God I hope it stays around for a while. A fabric store within walking distance. Oh how I love it! Of course, it’s not all fabric, the rest is kind of lame - though there are exceptions. But anyhoo, I’m just a happy little ducky - I love it! They have the greatest red and white stripe fabric, which I will surely make pirate clothes out of.

And then, on the way home - found three dead deer carcuses. Very, very gross. Flesh still on the bone, icky icky fun. ’twas a lovely (ish) day out.

Car Rental

May 6, 2008 no comments

Traveling? Don’t have a car on your trip? Don’t have your car ’cause it’s in the shop? Any other reason you don’t have your car? Or, like me, don’t have a car and need one for a specific purpose? With Advantage and their car rental service all of those issues can be solved! They have quite a few promotions and discounts to make it all the cheaper for you as well, which is good. I’ve actually used them once before (well, not me, but my sister.) when we were in San Diego. They were all around lovely, and I bet they still are. Simply tell ‘em what car you want, when you want it for, and pay and then BAM! When you need it, presto, a car! It’s nice that there are such services in the world, I say. So if you need to rent a car then surely check them out.

Hooray! Now I will have the Divine song in my head! My brother got me a Divine concert on DVD and I just watched the first concert (it has two) and I must say - it’s disgusting and I love it. And the punk girls at the end with the peroxide hair are brilliant.

Also today I watched The Mist by Frank Darabont, based on Stephen King’s story. And all I really have to say is Holy Fucking Shit. The ending. I almost died! I won’t say more, in case you want to but haven’t seen it.

And now I’m off!

Socialspark is live!

no comments

And while I’m not absolutely thrilled with it, and I’ll get into that in a second, I am so glad it’s finally here - anticipation was killing me, and in time I believe it may rival PPP in my mind. This is a paid review from Payperpost, another child of Izea, so I won’t totally tear into SocialSpark. Not that there is really anything to tear into - it has it’s issues, yes. I’ve been signed up for a while now on SocialSpark, as I was a Beta tester, and now it’s available to the public - so if you’re a blogger I’d definitely check it out. I haven’t had that much luck with it really, ’cause it’s not really all that perfect - yet. And I say yet, ’cause it’s still a work in progress, I suppose. Anyhoo, hopefully they’ll get on the issues with the Queueing for opps, which I absolutely hate hate hate, I must say. As well as - not quite as bad as queue - the Dynamic Pricing. Which I don’t completely understand, so I don’t hate it fully, but it is a bit annoying to reserve an opp at one price, and then after the evil queue gives it to you, doing it for another.

But It’s not all bad, in fact, it’s got more good than bad. I love the friends bit, and the fact that both advertisers and publishers have an actual profile and aren’t just two strangers doing a bit of business. I, being the narcissist I am, also love the picture bit. On PPP you can use a small picture, but on Socialspark you can show off your lovely self in a much bigger picture, if you so wish. Again with my narcissism, of course I have a lovely picture, lol.

It’s definitely worth checking out and doing - even if it’s a bit frustrating at times, money is money. And it’s very promising for the future, once all the kinks are worked out and it’s all put together, shiny and perfect.

Tagged?

May 4, 2008 no comments

I apparently got tagged (by melissa), and while the Server is still up, I suppose I have time to write a nice little post. It’s odd, ’cause she talks about having server issues when she got tagged. Is it a curse?!

The Rules:

  • Link to your tagger and post these rules.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
  • Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names and link to them.
  • Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.

Sounds fun, I suppose, though I don’t really know anyone else to tag. I suppose I’ll tell Bowie Skank to do it.

  1. I have an irrational hatred of the words Buddy, and Sweet. Don’t know why, but I do. It’s odd, I suppose.
  2. John Waters is my favorite film maker - I can quote Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble to death, and my favorite dance is The Roach from Hairspray
  3. I’m probably wearing more makeup right now than you ever will in a single day - and I look fairly subdued (until you get close)
  4. One of my Room’s is painted with Star of Davids and Om symbols in a random pattern
  5. I think Antony Hegarty is one of the most amazing people in the entire world, if the world were more like Antony (and other freaks) it would be brilliant.
  6. I own Madonna’s American Life single on a double disc Vinyl with such amazing remixes
  7. I once had my sister check a book out of a library with no intention of ever giving it back.
